Everything Everywhere All At Once ★★★★★

First trip back to a theater since 1917… The movie 1917, not the year! The date was January 17, 2020 in the wonderful Envision Cinema, now sadly closed (but up for auction.)

These lines in the sand of time form shapes.

I look forward to the day when I’m not counting. (But for the record, it was 1,186,560 minutes since my last time inside a movie theater.)

What made this comfortable was the ability to rent the whole dang place. I’d missed opportunities to see a few shows last year this way, but things were more nebulous then…

I’d heard enough praise from friends about Everything Everywhere All At Once that I knew I wanted to see it on a big screen.

It is so, so good.

Starts off slow (like Severance) and then tumbles gloriously and rapidly in many directions.

Even better than the movie? Seeing friends IRL that I hadn’t seen for an embarrassing number of days that I do not wish to count.
