2018 Northside 4th of July Parade

It was a good one.

RECOLLECTION

This would be mom’s last parade. She’s be gone before Christmas, but oh how she shined this day — one of her favorite of the year. Her home, an epicenter welcome to all.

I’m not sure what was happening this particular summer. There’s a gap in my online journal (something that happens with regularity). There are photos filed away for every day, but I guess I was too busy to post.

I wouldn’t edit these images until spring of 2019 as we prepared for mom’s celebration of life. We published them along with scores more in a keepsake for everyone that came out.

It’s now July of 2023 and I’m posting them online.

As I dug through the folder just to make sure I didn’t miss any good snapshots, I came across this one (below) that slipped through the cracks…

Mom’s on her porch, looks away from the parade for a moment and sees me.

I can’t begin to describe how good it feels to experience this again.
