In hindsight, I’m not sure how we pulled it off. Gathering factions from all corners of mom’s life… Bringing them together at one of her all time favorite destinations (Take the Cake in Northside)… Having Doug and Melissa not only host but cater the event… And last but not least, SURPRISING mom!
It helped that we celebrated her birthday proper on the actual date so looping back a handful of days later was key. And saying Take the Cake was doing a special dinner that night was entirely plausible (normally just a breakfast and lunch place).
Everything was wonderful and we couldn’t be more grateful for everyone who shared the celebration of mom’s 70th loop around the galaxy.
