A Little Respect at Lollapalooza, Day 3

My favorite moment of the third day was when The Killers threw out a staccato synth riff and it unfolded into a cover of A Little Respect by Erasure (video snippet on YouTube).

Another highlight happened before the show with a visit to Central Camera and picking up a disposable black and white film camera. I started using it immediately and love the contemplative approach to shooting with film. I really need to bring that restraint back to the digital world so I don’t feel so overwhelmed with the endless roll.

(Note: None of these photos are film, that roll is being processed as I type this.)

The third day of Lollapalooza wasn’t as crowded as the first two, which made moving around between sets less stressful. Dylan Brady (of 100 Gecs) did a DJ set that went all over the place in fun fashion. A South Korean girl group called Ive was in the middle of the day. They had some great choreography but I didn’t catch on to the music. Caught partial sets from Deftones (so loud!) and TV Girl, sadly missed Romy and Four Tet. (I needed to pace myself.)

Closed out the night with the aforementioned bright spot and tight set from The Killers.
