52, Godzilla and a cat under the weather

With a late December birthday I never confidently know my age. But today I am verifiably fifty-two.

I woke up to the nicest messages from friends and proceeded to work. Do I think everyone should get the day off on their birthday? Sure, I guess. Is that realistic or prudent? Not really.

But I did wrap up by 4pm and took a short nap, which was a wonderful gift unto itself.

Edie has been clingy of late (and refusing treats and hard food). I was lucky to get an appointment with a new vet the week between Christmas and New Years. Fingers crossed she’s okay.

I requested a late showing of Godzilla Minus One and that was a mistake. There were 45 minutes of previews and commercials pushing the start time to 10:15pm. I thought the movie might be action packed but it was not. Casey poked me at some point during the love story to wake up. I rallied for the ending.
