I went to the car dealership today to entertain a baby while my friends took a test drive.
I’m fascinated obsessed by head and tail light design. I suppose it’s like back in the day when taillights were made to look like rocket boosters. Now there’s all types of lenses, projector-style beams, colored bulbs, and LEDs…
I don’t mind these new-fangled things. What I do mind though, is the incessant additional curves that carve into the bumpers and lines of the vehicles to compliment the lights. Curves that say nothing to the design language of the car. I call them scallops. They’re all over now. It’s disturbing.
