Saturday Night

This was actually a Wednesday.

I popped up to Oxford to help Tom get the studio in order for Farm Day. We knocked it out our cleaning and organizing tasks in record time despite both hobbling due to middle age pains of vague origin. It really is whack-a-mole these days.

That evening we joined up with my brother for a screening of Saturday Night. He won tickets and in addition to being free the best part was NO TRAILERS.

I actually like movie trailers but the experience has evolved to include commercials, some sort of Entertainment Tonight like wrappers with personalities, QR codes and quizzes. Now that reserved seating is more ubiquitous, I’m rethinking my relationship to being timely.

Anyway, the movie was really great with the caveat, I have enjoyed SNL almost my entire life. Our parents let us stay up late for it even if we had no idea what was going on. I figure we were asleep by the news, but still.

Casting, pacing, vibe — all spot on. I’m sure the story is a vague representation of that first season, but I didn’t mind one bit.

Robert got a free mini poster and I just spent an inordinate amount of time trying to find the artist behind it. The internet fails so often when it comes to credit. Best I could do was BLT Communications.

I mean, seriously. This is just all sorts of goodness:
