Lollapalooza 2024, Day 1: Chappell Roan, Kesha
We arrive at Midway airport with the sun (meaning, way too early for my taste.) The Southwest experience leaned chaotic but entirely acceptable. I hear they are moving to assigned seats and would fathom that’d be better for everyone involved.
Check-in to our hotel wasn’t until mid afternoon so we had oodles of time to kill. We needed to clock in to work so I booked a day room to fill the gap at Dayuse — a great service if you need a place for the in-between.
We shifted to our proper hotel later that afternoon, dropped off bags and high-tailed it to the Coachella festival in time to catch Chappell Roan who has sky rocketed so much in popularity that she bumped Kesha from the main stage.
So popular, she broke Coachella records with attendance. (100,000+)
Seeing the crowd synchronize to HOT TO GO! (YouTube Short) was admittedly, surreal.
And also literally hot. Like a hundred ninety-nine degrees. Srsly worse than Coachella because it was not a dry heat.
We mopped ourselves off and made it over to Kesha on a side stage afterward. The crowd was too thick for a good view. She did a fine set (with a real knife by accident). I was most happy to hear JOYRIDE live and super looking forward to the new album.
In other news, why am I not watching all this as live streams from a couch?

OMG! This is AWESOME. ❤️
I feel extremely lucky to have witnessed this!
