Bergs

When was the last time I officially crossed paths with Chris Bergman? I don’t really recall. I know I bumped into him way back when the casino opened in Cincinnati.

And I am sure I saw him while recording a podcast in his old office, but after that it’s all a hazy milieu. We’re connected on the social medias so I feel l’ve a good handle on what he’s up to, but there’s so much nuance and good stuff that happens in between the posts and loops and the whatnot.

We floated the idea of a hang and aligned calendars to make it happen.

This Friday evening it came to fruition.

We chatted about life and games and work and not work and music and more music and events and the very moment that was happening and the moments that lie ahead and it was all just very invigorating.

Whatever amount of time I had blocked on the calendar for this moment was absolutely not enough. Our party grew to include mutual friend Glenn and Chris’ other half Nic. It was at this culmination I wondered out loud how awesome it would be to just live downtown. (We met at Somerset which continues to delight. It’s not just gorgeous but the drinks are exceptionally good.)

No matter the where, I hope we convene again with less time in-between.

    • The whole place feels like pages ripped out of a magazine feature. “In a nod to the owner’s late father, Somerset, was built using authentic & interesting materials/objects from around the world, all directly sourced, the goal being to help reinforce the feeling of being ‘elsewhere’ and inspire people to develop and fuel greater interest in distant cultures.” – Cincinnati Design Awards
