Been coordinating with friends for a holiday dinner and lots of places were booked. We found a good option but through the back and forth I noticed a late slot available for two at Boca on a Saturday night. (9:30!)
Mental note: Plan holiday meals earlier and also just randomly lock in reservations for small groups and then find takers!
So after the Bengals defeated the Vikings in an remarkable overtime game, we made our way downtown and enjoyed a late dinner at this favorite spot.
First Sidebar: I thought I’d fancy up with a wool vest. In the pocket was a receipt from the last time it was worn: From a dinner at Boca in December, 2019. I am so predictable. Also? There is photographic proof!
Dinner was dandy. The menu at Boca is different than the beforetimes but favorites remain (pommes soufflés, caramelized Brussels sprouts, the chicken and Beef Wellington).
Second sidebar: I pulled up a photo from the original Boca location in Northside and showed it to our server. Casey chastised me for being that old person that does things like this.
On the way back to our car I finally caught the pretty green and red lights at Richter & Phillips above that I’d seen in photos from Ronny Salerno and Phil Armstrong.
Also happy to see Batsakes Hat Shop still kicking it in a new location.
