Mindless thoughts of color

On our last trip to NYC, Thor handed us bags of goodies as we headed to the airport. One contained croissants and the other had a variety of CMYK goodies that included a writing pen, lapel pin, circular post-it notes and a postcard.

As I was cleaning out the closet yesterday I found these items in a suitcase. (Not the croissants, those contained rhubarb and were quickly consumed.)

And when I needed a break from the screen today, I broke out that CMYK pen and doodled, enjoying mindless thoughts of color.

On that note, Pantone announced 2024’s color of the year to be Peach Fuzz, a pastel version of Band-Aid®.

I tend to regard these annual proclamations with a shrug, but I do enjoy headlines about design and color. Also impressive that Pantone must work far in advance to have collaborations that include tea, lip gloss, tennis shoes and Peach Fuzz colored mobile phones ready to go.

Unrelated to color, I stumbled upon this (Spotify) playlist for “songs that are perfect for cooking and slow dancing with someone you love” by Matt (Fuegostine) and now all I want to do is cook and slow dance.
