Always planning incremental improvements to this here website, I used to keep this list in my Notes app but this seems like a better place. Some things I can figure out on my own, but more often require the help of others.

Do

  1. Search box text on mobile in dark mode is very hard to read ★
  2. I am loving IBM Plex for body copy. Now to center type vertically on buttons and inputs. (Curious if this approach might help Safari) ★
  3. Bring back Featured Image Crop and Rotation on mobile view? (Home page featured image does this still. Example) ★
  4. Create default “full post” RSS and move current feed to a separate “excerpts” RSS.
  5. Reduce strength of link underline to a percentage. Like… 60%?
  6. Make date stronger on posts
  7. Viewport in landscape mode on tablet is too “narrow”
  8. The latest update to WordPress borked the font in the admin editor
  9. Reduce amount of space between paragraphs (mobile) (but not bullets!)

  1. Wondering if fonts should be licensed and hosted locally…
  2. More a curiosity (involves gallery plugin) – The gallery is set to two columns, but doesn’t appear that way. (Example)
  3. Spin the home icon on scroll?! (See)
  4. Gate the photoblog?! Seriously. What if the journal was for members only? At this point I don’t care about SEO.
  5. Evaluate previous and next post concept with thumbnail. (Maybe a bad idea!)
  6. Crazy idea: Settling an alternate featured image for mobile (to cater to vertical screens)
  7. Silly idea: Create page with visualization of dark/light link colors of the days. (Sketch)

  22. Uploading images is using compression and the scaled versions that are larger sized than what is being uploaded (Previously there was a line in the functions.php : add_filter( ‘big_image_size_threshold’, ‘__return_false’ ); (Temp fix applied)

  24. Make a thorough list of “quality” posts and pages to make it easier to jump into the HUGE MESS.
  25. Rework Favorites section to link to journal entries, instead of being totally separate post types
