Kyle and I were to be bunkmates during 2009’s All Tomorrow’s Parties—a three day music festival in Minehead, England. This particular year had been curated by The Breeders.
Both of us were filled with trepidation at the blind pairing. I would assume we both asked Kim, “Who is he, and why do we have to share a room?” She probably said something assuasive and we accepted our fates. Kim has very good intuition.
Kyle and I are indeed, very different people—he’s into the typography of street art and I like Helvetica—but we totally hit it off. Deeply and truly.
We’re friends til this day, and if we’re ever traveling the world we share a photo of the good orange Fanta. Not that USA nonsense.
(Also? ATP was awesome.)
