A John Waters Christmas

Last night we saw John Waters at the Ludlow Garage — no photos allowed — so here are some cookies from the afternoon.

John started this holiday tradition in 1996 at San Francisco’s Castro Theatre.

The monologue spans his career of making movies, imagining campy holiday traditions, and remarks on current events, culture and society. And while I normally don’t love Q&A sessions, he extends the evening with lively off the cuff respones to audience queries.

And while I’d love a new John Waters movie, any sort of this weirdness is not just welcome, it is needed.
