Alien Romulus and conveyor belt sushi

Caught Alien Romulus in the theater because it felt like the best place to revisit this horror sci-fi universe. It looked really incredible — the sets, interfaces, vibe — all of it was on point. But scenes with an old android were jarringly bad. Conversely, I agree that the new android character was perfectly cast — I can thank Nikhil’s summary for clueing me in this was David Jonsson.

I was entertained even when confused. (How’d those Aliens grow so fast? Where were the eggs?) Thumbs up, but I’d be fine if they didn’t make any more sequels from here on out. Let’s revisit The Black Hole or something from this thread on Reddit instead.

Had sushi afterward at one of them conveyor belt joints and I spent too much mental energy thinking of ways to improve the interface of the screen at our table. It’s used to find ingredients of what rolls by and order additional items. It does both tasks poorly but did not detract from the joy of sushi.
