Got up silly early and flew to Portland, Oregon.
Watched American Fiction along the way, which was enjoyable. I wished I’d seen it in a theater to get extra immersed.
Another fine place to watch a movie is on a plane because it’s a great way to focus — on the film — and defocus on all the things about flight travel that can be stressful.
Landed at the new PDX that had recently reopened and it’s like an architectural rendering come to life.
Expanses of real wood, arcs, textures and chonking up of spaces to make opportunities for mini TED Talk audience seating.
It’s super pretty.
Obligatory carpet shot below along with a few Foursquare Swarm check-ins. Somewhere along the line I started adding photos to this digital trail of breadcrumbs — it’s one extra step to something I’m already doing.
More recently, I try and sneak in a selfie. (Photos with people are automatically set to private on the app that few continue to use.)
And now I’m flashing peace signs. I don’t know why.
Sometimes I stack ridiculous patterns, sometimes they stick.

Wow, I just sat up straight in my seat. The peace sign was something my dear friend Wendy and I always made in our pictures back in high school. She passed away in 2022, and ever since, whenever I see peace signs, I feel her presence with me. I even got a peace sign tattoo in her honor. Seeing this today really touched my heart.✌️
And your comment touched mine. I’m sorry to hear of your friend’s passing, but heartened her presence is near.
