It’s Only Life After All

Casey traveled to Minneapolis for the weekend so I was left to my own streaming devices. I usually take these opportunities to watch romantic comedies but today I chose the documentary about the Indigo Girls.

It’s Only Life After All (streaming on Netflix) is pretty special in part because a.) the Indigo Girls make incredible, standout music and b.) There was a ton of home footage of the band in their formative years, much of it because Amy Ray filmed behind the scenes.

Admission: I am an Indigo Girls stan. I belted out songs with friends through high school and college at any opportunity. If they were just hitting the scene today their fan base would no doubt have a fun nickname (think Beyhive, Little Monsters, Swiftiess, Beliebers).

Sidenote: Billie Eilish fans are called Avocados because her initial Instagram handle was @wherearetheavocados (story).

Anywho, as much as I love the band, I didn’t really know their whole story.

After seeing this film, I have a better understand and love them even more.

  1. I’ve been a fan of the Indigo Girls since 1989. I’m definitely going to watch this—thank you for the recommendation.
