On Monday February 5 at 9:14 AM, Emmanuel renamed our group chat to The Tortured Designers Department. (The Grammy Awards were the night before when Taylor announced her upcoming album.)
The whole thread actually began a year earlier as we tried to find overlap for our small group to grab coffee.
Fast forward years and months and we finally got our act together, meeting at Quan Hapa in OTR to discuss the new album and the price of tickets for the show in Indianapolis. (Limited views start at $2100.)
We shared our favorite tracks and then talked about work, not working, what is working, travel, books, sandwiches and food.
Related: the K-BBQ Shaken Beef dish might top my list of best steak in the city of Cincinnati. My only regret is not pairing it with garlic noodles. Beware, if you have a shellfish allergy there is fish sauce on it.
I hope our tortured department can meet again soon.
Maybe we’ll gather for sandwiches I went to a single pop-up by Young Buck Deli and would dream about that mortadella sandwich. Their first proper store is in the old Holman’s Donuts space and opens very soon.
