I like their sound well enough, but never fully engaged.
I did and do think Robert Smith is a treasure. Whenever I see a clip of him backstage / answering questions at a junket / award ceremony I am convinced he is a real and funny human being on top of being talented.
Anyway I went to the mall to get my old phone’s screen replaced and listened to the first single off their new album. It darn near stopped me in my tracks. That initial build!
Then I listened to it over and over.
Even the lyric video hits proper. Stick with it.
Seriously. Watch for three minutes and ride it out from there.
