I had escaped this Hitchcock film, the one that inspired action movies (including James Bond and many others).
I knew the title sequence would be excellent after seeing it repeatedly in Saul Bass retrospectives. Side note: Saul would begin working with his wife Elaine the following year on film titles, but she would not get credit for almost three decades.
I’d no idea what to expect outside of clips with Cary Grant running from a plane that’s also featured on many of the movie posters.
The pacing definitely felt very modern with the story of mistaken identity moving along at a quick clip. I didn’t expect the mix of adventure, suspense and comic bits.
Overall? Looked great and kept me on the edge of my seat (actually comfortably buckled). Two thumbs up!
