Stanley Steemed

In 2009 I moved to a flat in Camp Washington and bought this, my first couch (and dining room table).

My brother worked at Crate & Barrel at the time — this was before their quality circled the drain. With his discount I was able to get a nice couch that was long enough for my 6’5″ frame to nap. Extra bonus? Flippable cushions!

Here it is when I first got it:

Loft apartment, staged to look clean

Fast forward 15 years and aside from the bottom cushions? It‘s held up extremely well.

After years of half-heartedly looking for a replacement, I found a local resource to replace the cushion inserts.

Before that, I thought it prudent to get the upholstery cleaned.

So that’s what happened today.

Fingers crossed it can live on for many more years.

Now to replace that $30 temporary living room rug!

(hat tip to Jasper for today’s soundtrack)
