10 years of Salazar (1.0)

When Salazar opened downtown ten years ago, it was a part of the revitalization that had been brewing throughout Over-the-Rhine. A short hop from the newly renovated Washington Park, this small restaurant became a favorite destination for any and all occasions (or no occasion at all!) According to Foursquare (now Swarm), I’ve checked in more than any other restaurant downtown.

And now this incarnation of the restaurant is coming to an end. The good news is that the space will live on in some capacity and another Salazar 2.0 might crop up in the future.

I’ve enjoyed many flips of the calendar with friends at their New Year’s Eve prix fixe dinners. And while we couldn’t get in on the 31st, we did manage to grab a table the night before to enjoy one last meal. It was excellent, as always.

I’m so grateful for what José Salazar and his team have accomplished over the years in this little corner of the city, and look forward to whatever they whip up next.
