Across from the hotel was this building with Whip Mix, Jasper Engines & Transmissions and Porter Paint balloons — the fourth was faded. All framed nicely by a blue sky on this morning of our departure. (Whip Mix doesn’t make concrete, but dental technology.)
The highlight of the return trip was hitting up Schlotzsky’s Deli, a fast food joint that never took off (which is a shame as it’s totally unique). Their Original sandwich on a sourdough bun is one of the rare times I don’t pick off the olives.
