I met Ukrainian American artist Ellina Chetverikova in 2016 while she was a resident at Manifest and have been following her work ever since.
This year has been particularly rough as her home country has been devastated by the Russian invasion.
Her hometown of Severodonetsk is nearly destroyed. She’s been posting ways to help on her Instagram account with drives for supplies, fundraisers and selling art to support the cause. I was able to purchase this oil painting in the center titled Pines. It hangs in the hope that the war will end soon.
