I loved the travel sequences involving a fully automated car in the sci-fi flick Swan Song (trailer). The contemplative glimpse into a future has lots of fine things in its favor: the cinematography, sets, cast and underlying concept. All solid—it’s a well designed movie.
Hints of Ex Machina abound, but it doesn’t quite hit the high notes. They’re very different movies, but they feel like a similar universe. This one just isn’t as satisfying in resolve.
