RECOLLECTION

In my morning reflections I found this image tucked in a folder of snapshots with the skyline and celebration of my brother’s birthday. There were a bunch of other photos of moments from the day in that folder and this one of Mom’s cat Shadow caught my eye. I opened it for closer inspection.

There on the table, miraculously in focus, were sheets of paper with mom’s exquisite handwriting. I never noticed them before. The first page reads:

Senior Citizens

January 22, 2016

This year I will be 74 years old, and I am looking forward to just be here and be happy watching my children, grandchildren and great grandchild, friends, and whoever is in my life. And it has been a life beyond my wildest dreams. My children continually amaze me on what wonderful adults they have become, they are, smart, productive, thoughtful, talented, and they are kind and loving to me. Hey, that is not always the case for everybody, I am blessed, and I know it! I thank them for this with all my heart I’ve seen just the opposite and some families. Sad.

I’d love to know what the other pages have to say!
