What promised to be a perfectly okay picture above turned out to be a great example of “really boring airport photo.”
I’m blaming my flustered self, straight out of security, hobbling with an untied shoe and adjusting my belt, trying to get to my camera in my backpack.
In other news, the airline had one of those fancy seat back systems that let you pick whatever movies you want to watch, all included in the price of the ticket.
Score!
I caught up on lots of flicks I’d been meaning to see.
The standout was The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. I had wanted to see it in a theater but missed out because of tepid reviews. It’s not for everyone, but I thought it was pretty darn excellent. During the scene below Kristen Wiig starts signing a Bowie song and I’m ready to jump in the helicopter for some grand unknown adventure.
I spent some moments after the credits rolled, thinking about life, taking chances on things, and being aware of the moment. In some ways I felt like I was already riding in that helicopter. Just a little bit. Enough to make me pine for more.
