Cincinnati Design Week 2013

Jason Snell kicked things off on this last day of Cincinnati Design Week. His riffs amped up vibes for the final presenter, Aaron James Draplin who kept the energy elevated with a presentation about design and the underdog spirit.

From the program:

Using scientific proof and state-of-the-art multimedia techniques, Aaron James Draplin of the Draplin Design Co. delivers a suckerpunch of a talk that aims to provide bonafide proof of work, the highs and lows of a ferociously independent existence and a couple tall tales from his so-called career in the cutthroat world of contemporary graphic design. Just a regular American guy with a trajectory a little dirtier than yours, his talk is open to all oncomers brave enough to show up. If you are a youngster, you may find yourself inspired to attack your design future in a different way. If you are established, you may just leave feeling grateful you don’t have anything to do with him. Hard to say. All Cincinnati citizens are invited to attend. Be there!

Ohio Knife will also be accompanying Arron’s talk. Ohio Knife is bombastic rock n’ roll. Jason Snell’s raspy, two-toned vocals and trashy guitar using off-the-beaten-path tunings may be the driving force for this sonic onslaught—but that truck’s pulling a full load of ass-dropping drums, thunderous bass-booming thumps and enough vicious fuzzed-out organ to make you lose a filling…
