My mom got a Fit!
You know, Car and Driver puts this vehicle in their Top 10?
And I couldn’t be more excited for her.
And she could not be more excited.
When mom left dad she moved in with my grandmother to rebuild her life (and her credit).
She worked just down the street at the department store, moving up the ranks and making each workplace special as she knew how to do. She eventually moved out on her own to a little apartment in Norwood and years later a house in Northside.
She made lots of improvements to the house with a new kitchen and adding this driveway — pretty much living her best life with travel here and there. Her biggest investment was the garden, but she managed to keep saving.
Getting a new car was a big deal. She spent months exploring the options and landed on this little Honda. I went with her as she signed the paperwork and drove it home.
I bet she even dressed to match it for the day.
Absolutely beaming, for good reason.
