I strategically chose the Western Hills AT&T store to try and snag an iPhone on launch day. I was third in line and Scott Frondorf, a friend and colleague showed up right after. Later my friend Renita would also appear.

Foot Locker set up a grill with hot dogs and burgers.
The vibe was jovial.
Activation was rough on the AT&T network but I got squared away and later that night had a long call with Erik.
We likely knew this was a game changer, but little did we know how much would change with the release of this mobile phone handheld computer.
30 days or so after these photos were taken, I wrote down a few thoughts about the extraordinary device.
