Since both the major papers (owned by the same company) in my hometown have aligned themselves with George W. Bush as their candidate of choice, I thought this was the perfect time to voice my stance:

Those papers suck. They’ve always sucked in my book. And if it wasn’t for the comics (back in the day) and the Best Buy insert, I’d never buy them. And now, since I can read circulars online, perhaps I need not throw any quarters their way.

Luckily, I read Citybeat, the free press, and they make more sense. (And have better calendars for music and movies)

The only earnest reason I’ve gotten from anyone voting for Bush was his strong military stance. Sorry, not buying it.

I think soldiers are governed by a complex system not reliant on an individual. Putting a Democrat in office will not change things, other than how we cooperate with the world. And I think a world view is important.

I’ll speak briefly on other parties:
I wish they were stronger. I’d probably vote for their candidates.

So I feel confident that a vote for Kerry is a good thing. It’s not a concession. Any doubts I may have had are generated by things outside my experience. He’s not pretty, but I never planned on jerking off to his picture.

When in doubt, I simply refer to a the candidates position on issues. Now I don’t agree with Kerry’s stance on everything, but he wins the most checks in his column.

So to support our troops, I’m voting for Kerry. I’d like to get them home. I think we can still be proactive about fighting terror, I just don’t want to live in fear while we do it.
