The mountains surrounding Phoenix from the plane

My brother and I got to sit next to each other on the return flight. I coerced him to let me have the window seat.

It was fantastic watching the city roll under and the horizon settle before soaring above the clouds. I forgot how much perspective one gets from this vantage. How cars resemble hot wheels. How the grid of the city and clusters of communities form patterns unknown at street level. How many people there are on earth.

I remind myself of a few things at this point:

  1. I need to get out of Phoenix next time, and explore the countryside.
  2. Change prefs to window seat.
