And I still don’t like that new identity. Previously…

snapshot gone wrong
So my friend Jenn was in town and I wanted to take a snapshot. I suggested the hammock as a backdrop and things went down from there.
The good news is that no one was harmed, and for me? This pretty much captures the jubilant nature of Jenn.

Miamisburg Mound

Visited the Miamisburg Mound earlier in the week.
It was moundy.

Valley Vineyards

I learned a new word while visiting Valley Vineyards in Morrow Ohio, well, a new definition at least. A bunghole is a hole bored in a liquid-tight barrel. The hole is capped with a large cork-like object called a bung. (pictured above)
Remnants from the evening
When plans go awry – the restaurant you hoped to visit is closed for the holiday weekend, the state park scaled back hours due to budget cuts, the attendant isn’t at their post of the observation deck… These things can wear on you when you’re trying to be a good ambassador to your town.
But that disappointment becomes very distant when you’re sharing wine and conversation.
An extra special thanks to Chris over at Full Pour for these most excellent selections from Bonny Doon Vineyard.
Now I’m not good with adjectives and wine, and for these I was sold just on the label alone – which afforded a good bit of conversation. But the contents of the bottles made up for all the things that went wrong over the weekend, and even inspired me to recall some Beastie Boys lyrics (from Hello Nasty), which for me is an indicator that things are going right.
A handful of fireworks
Capped off the holiday with Dan and Chris from California lighting some small fireworks in the backyard.

A little bit of rain didn’t hamper the spirit of the Northside July 4th Parade.
