My first book of this type was the Macmillan Visual Dictionary that was published in 1992. I don’t know where that copy went. This Dorling Kindersley version replaced it along the way. Both are fantastic.
I should mention, this was a reference I used very often before the internet. What is the shape of a violin? What are all the elements? How are they described? Named?
So many things organized and described with visual notation.
