Eventually every album by The Breeders will live in this tapestry of favorites, but you have to start somewhere. I’m randomly choosing Pod because the cover spoke to me today, just as it did back in May of 1990.

What was going on there? Oh, just a fertility dance of a man wearing a belt of eels.
Every song on this record is glorious, but I’m going to point you to Oh!, because I love Carrie Bradley’s violin and Michael Allen’s matter-o-fact backing vocals.
