For the longest time it was an XBOX exclusive. I finally got it on the Switch in late 2019 and if you like platformers? It is among the best. The series starts with Ori and the Blind Forest. It’s not as grueling as Hollow Knight, but it’s close. You build up skills as a small white guardian spirit. The smooth nature of the animation and controls is spot on. Lots of platforms and puzzles to solve with intense battles adding bookends and context.
There’s lots of backtracking possible through upgrades, but it seldom feels like a slog.
It’s just so darn pretty. The story, characters and fluid control are delightful.

Then the sequel came out. Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Moon Studios upped the ante and made it just a little prettier, but also threw out the rulebook on controls from the first game and tweaked things just enough to keep you on your toes. These are among my favorite platforming games of all times. So far.
