I wouldn’t know about this album if it wasn’t for Nick Blasky. Level 42 made some small waves in the US with Something About You but Nick implored that they were solid through and through. So I got this cassette and whoa.
Their music was funky in the framework of 1985, but meandered into a sort of soul tinged with melancholy unapologetically. I became an immediate fan that lasted. This was the album that got me on board.
