I knew of Maya before I met her. She was blogging about design and architecture and cool things in general and at some point our lines crossed and elbows bent.
Our earliest correspondence seems to be a note from May in 2008 in reference to this tea towel.
From there we started to email more, trade accolades, share recipes and eventually hang out proper!
Maya would go on to found a Magazine Club, an exclusive art gallery, a store that brought together local artists and goods, and I would have no doubt I’m forgetting a dozen other things.
That’s why I’m glad I have these bits and pieces tucked away so I may reference when things get hazy.
