It has been a year

One year ago, we lost her.

I don’t want to be the person that remembers the date, but there it was approaching on the calendar and I recalled each and every day leading up to it.

The moment was not lost. Friends and family reached out with support throughout the day.

I can hear her now. Don’t be sad. Celebrate the good.

So I took the day off and followed in her footsteps… Writing a few holiday cards… going to the post office… having a long lunch with friends at a favorite spot… wandering shops leisurely afterward… smiling, letting everyone go ahead in their bustle…

It was lovely.

I still miss her terribly but I’m determined to continue to learn, grow and strive to honor her spirit in my choices and actions.
