Great patterns

Saturday, May 4, 2019

My sister got in town a few days ago and was spending the first leg of her journey up with my nephews. They live out there. I love seeing the expanse of farmlands along the way to their house.

Another bonus of the drive? The potential for great audio. In this case it was the TED radio hour on NPR and this segment on aging: Journalist Joshua Prager explores the stages of life through quotes from great writers. (Note: the link makes it look like the video is the thing to click on, but I actually listened to the radio segment which is the smaller play button above.)

There are these great patterns through life, and we all go through them.

The conversation goes on…

There are things we can learn about ourselves wherever we are in life from people that have been there before.

Yep. That feels right. But to play the other side of the coin, I don’t think we learn from quotes as much as we verify what we’ve already experienced.
