I really think Lorde’s first full length album is fantastic. The sound, lyrics, hooks, it’s frankly an alarmingly good debut. But I wasn’t sure how her electronic music would translate to a live stage show. I’d heard raves about previous performances, but I just didn’t feel it.
Maybe it was the packed venue up in Columbus (the unfortunately named Lifestyles Communities Pavilion). Could’ve been the largely canned backing music or the vague looping videos being projected. I dunno. I’ve faith she’ll one day find a stage production that provides a better backdrop.
