My last birthday surprise was an overnight trip to St. Pete Beach. Celebrations would expire the next day as normal birthdays can be observed for a week and decades can be observed for at least a month… I don’t make the rules. (Actually, I just did.)
Watched the sunset behind a streak of clouds on the chilly beach and were tempted to jump in the hotel pool that had been heated to 90° by a couple from Indiana. Then we ordered too much food for dinner.
