The day began in Delphos

The morning started with a drive up north to pay respects to Anne’s mother.

I didn’t know her mom as well as I should have, and I’d never been to her hometown of Delphos… But I’ve known Anne longer than I haven’t known her. We’ve been through countless thicks and thins.

Made it just in time to meet up with Wendy and honor the spirit that raised our dear friend.

After all was said and done we parted ways.

Casey and I were on our way to Columbus but had lots of time to kill, so we decided to explore these mid-north-eastern parts of Ohio…

The next stop was the Armstrong Air & Space Museum in Wapakoneta. The museum was announced while Neil Armstrong was still on his way back from the moon. It was designed to look like a lunar colony, with a large dome in the center of the structure.

Lots of artifacts, really enthusiastic docents, and updated for their 50th anniversary with information about current NASA missions.

Well worth a visit.

After the museum, a quick trip to Lima, Ohio for one of the few remaining Kewpee Hamburger joints.
