Substation before the storm

We’re seeing how far we can walk in 30 minutes in all directions. This evening we could have gone longer, but a storm was brewing, so we cut things short to avoid a downpour.

I thought the juxtaposition of evening sun on the power substation equipment was striking against the storm clouds.

I wanted to learn more about this particular location, but the usual online searches reveal little. The current theory here is that it’s to protect infrastructure from say, war. Related: Today marks 30 days that the Russians have invaded Ukraine. It’s horrific.
