On July 24th of this year I woke up with Taylor Swift’s surprise album “Folklore” ready to stream.
Along with the music there was a boatload of merch ready to go—a buncha vinyl variants and even a cardigan.
I ordered an “In the Weeds” edition and had Casey take this photo for no good reason:
Little did I know the album would become a favorite of 2020—so melancholy, layered, soft and warm.
The vinyl arrived on this day and I feel back into it’s spell.
Bonus delight: Having those little paper stars drift out of the packaging.
Also bonus: She produced a movie about the making and meaning of the songs that dropped this week. It is also a delight. I totally misunderstood many of the tracks, but that’s ok—now they have double meaning.
