Andrew lent a copy of Ryan Holiday’s Stillness is the Key and I was excited to crack it open.
I’ve been searching for more quiet moments. This quest led me to leaving Facebook, turning off as many notifications as possible and inspired decluttering the house to amplify focus.
The bath was still warm when I came across this bit at the beginning of the book.
When faced with a difficult decision, we must:
- Be fully present
- Empty our mind of preconceptions
- Take our time
- Sit quietly and reflect
- Reject distraction
- Weight advice against the counsel of our convictions
- Deliberation without being paralyzed
