It’s real now. Tonight, at The Cincinnati Anthology Literary Gathering, I was able to get my paws on a real-life physical copy of the first book I’ve designed. That was a personal triumph, but the evening held lots more goodness.
First, the setting at the Mercantile Library was perfect. I hadn’t been to this tucked away space before and it’s… The Quintessential Library. The only thing that would make it more awesome is a secret bookshelf door that led to a bourbon speakeasy.
Then the readings began. All these faces I had poured over for hours in a layout program breathed life into the words I merely judged by texture and margin. I’m proud to have been involved and present.
I graciously tip my hat to Zan.
