Friends don’t always remember our studio is named Wire & Twine.
A handful have mentioned they’ve been out wearing our shirts and when
asked where to get one they search for a tag or some branding with no success.

Shame on us.

We’re working on changing that with a little tag that has a logo and our name
on the back. But first? We have to design it.

Above is the work in progress for a proper mark.

Below is my apartment on laundry day.

While snapping photos downtown I met up with this little guy and his mom and dad.
“Hey, I know that shirt! I made it!” I exclaimed.
“No way!” his parents replied, and said if we ever needed a model…
“Well how about now?” and the day just got all that much brighter.

While I was off gallivanting all over tarnation, our studio got a fresh coat of paint.

It’s looking mighty fine, but even better with the morning light on this clear winter day.

You can bet that if there’s ever a lull on here, it’s because the following day was filled with a ton of photos.

As was the case on this day during the T-shirt Festival down on Fountain Square.

I picked out this flying pig from Alternative Motive, but there are a bunch of snapshots from the day over on our studio blog.

Heather liked this photo of the beat up piano and we made this poster.

I’m tipping my hat to Tom for making this a reality. (He’s awesome.)

Tom, Wendy and I started Wire & Twine about, oh, 3 years ago.
Since then we’ve done a ton of stuff, but most folks just know us for the t-shirts.
Which is cool. We like t-shirts.

But our idea about the company was about bringing people together, trying new things,
making stuff that was exciting and ultimately, well… sharing.

So it’s kinda funny that we’ve never had a proper weblog.

We didn’t want it to just be about stuff we’re selling (though that will be featured
about once a week or so.) So in order to establish a framework, we spent spare moments
throughout the year to set goals, carve out categories, and make a gameplan.

The result is Enjoy This Beautiful Day and we’re pretty excited about what we have in store.

We’re just a few days into it, but we’re looking forward to filling it up with good stuff.

When we have a weblog for the studio (and we will, soon, have one of those fancy things) – this image will go in it.
For October 26, 2009 marked a glorious day… A day when all Tom’s soldering and wires and other electronic bits finally came
together and a homemade amp was born.

The rock may now commence.

She keeps making these scarves and I want every single one of them.

Wendy has a visitor in the studio.
Always a welcome break from the fiddling with virtual pixels and vectors.

This is where I lay down a big sheet of white paper on the garage floor and shoot new stuff for our store.
We’ve been selling this tee at festivals this summer with great response. Finally I got ‘em all online.

A publication needed photos of our transit map shirt.
This was the only time I picked up the camera that day, but I did like
how the light really brought out the texture of the shirt and ink.

Stuck a few goodies on the shelves above my desk for inspiration.

Kelley dropped off some lovely handbags to get up on the store.
I think the appropriate description for this little detail is, “kawaii“

Tom has been coming up with new and innovative ways to expand our business.

Kim and Kelley take a break after printing up 1000 limited edition “Fate to Fatal” EPs.
I’m going down to Shake It Records tonight (8pm) to see them play some music in commemoration
of the release and Record Store Day.

Things have been so pedal-to-the-metal that I haven’t really taken the time to talk about this record.
The cover is the first one I’ve ever designed proper, and it’s a helluva an joy to work with The Breeders.

Vaughn Oliver’s work with them is one of the biggest reasons I do what I do these days.

The fact I love their music? Gravy. The best gravy ever.

Total honor.

The bulk of WOXY shirts went out the door today.
Tom did a knockout job on the design once again.

I just said something to dishonor him and he’s about to bitch-slap me.
