A double feature at the Holiday Auto Theatre: Toy Story 3 (so excellent) and that vampire Eclipse New Moon thing (notsogood). An odd pairing, but a perfect evening for the drive-in.

Drove out to the east side to catch the Coen Brother’s latest film. Oy! It was a hard movie to sit through, but I think it might be one of those things that fares well over time. I can say with confidence, it sure was pretty at first glance.

I didn’t see Where the Wild Things are on the day of this photograph, but it has stuck with me ever since I caught a matinee some Saturdays ago. It’s really a beautiful film. And I’m reminded of it as autumn stretches evening light through the trees.

For all the schmaltz and flaws of Julie & Julia, I loved the underlying theme of finding your calling by pursuing what you love.

My friend “The Brown” recently scared me into thinking she got a tattoo of Robert Pattinson. Thank goodness she didn’t.
