So the groundhog saw his shadow and we’re going to have more winter.
If it continues with these 60° days, I’m not sure what that means other than
we can have bonfires in this climate.

And that’s what went down last night.

A good fire brings out the best conversation.

This day was largely noted for being a Wednesday, that means I go out for a beer over in Kentucky.
Not at a gas station, but 701 Bar over off Mainstrasse.
Not sure if you have these beer caves in your neck of the woods. Essentially they are big refrigerators you
can go in to pick up your brew. Only rivaled by drive-thrus, where you get to stay in your car and shop for beer.
I’ve never gotten a good shot of  a beer drive-thru, it is on my short list.

Tangent, in nerdspeak: Today was also the day I learned how to name and deliver assets in multiple
resolutions for mobile apps. Never have I felt closer to my original roots of designing for a CD-ROMS.

Multimedia has a future.

I think just about any photo can be saved with cropping.
This would be an extreme example with dubious results.

“Wanna see some improv tonight?” my friend Heather Brown asked.
Why not? So we went down to Mokka in Newport to catch the group called Incredulity.
Good fun.

As for this snapshot of The Brass Mule Lounge (aka The Brass Ass) in Newport?
We walked by and the lights gave me pause.

Maybe we’ll pop in there next time.

First time at Dixie Chili in Newport. Their style of Cincinnati chili has a bit more spice than other local joints
(Not heat, more like cinnamon.) Quite liked it.

No idea what Bulldog Gravy is, but it’s on my list.

The Ohio River is still really high.

I only include this last image as the rollover shows it was originally over-exposed.

I needed a haircut since I was going on a quick trip to New York,
and my barber needed a new sign in the window. ( Rollover for original )

I used a variation of Letterhead Font’s Sarah Script for the logotype.
Futura for the body, and that little “Call!” is actually a touch from House Industries.

With her thumbs up I’m working on ways to make the sign more lasting.

I always feel a certain grandeur on this stretch of road in Independence, Kentucky.
Sure it was excavated and likely blasted with dynamite to come into being, but it’s still lovely.

The Party Source puts on these cigar tastings most every Tuesday at the Beer Sellar.
Not sure how new changes in smoking laws will effect this event, but for the time being
it’s going on strong.

This thing can’t be working correctly.

Maybe I should look into being a truck driver, because I really do enjoy being on the road.

This trip was a quick one: down to Cumberland Kentucky to help friends get an old family condo
back into working order.

Step one was de-cluttering, step two was hooking up the internet.

Very important things to make a productive and relaxing getaway,
that is, if you avoid the right websites.

Well, technically in Newport, Kentucky.
The Reds won the division title this night, but I was in bed by the time that happened.

Headed down to Rabbit Hash Kentucky with the fellas to catch the 2nd Annual Dog Days of Summer Art Fair.
And what a dog day it was.
Man it was hot.
But there was cold beer at the General Store you could carry around while checking out the music, art, and barbecue.

Just to reiterate my made-up “rules” of this album. after that nice run of photos from Graceland…
1. Take (at least) one picture every day.
2. Only post photos in order, never skipping ahead, even if that means great delay.
3. There is no third rule.

But this image above? I didn’t even take it.
Erik did—while we drove back from Memphis and up through Kentucky in the foggy night.
It captured the moment so darn well, I had to steal it.

I should also mention it is in lieu of a snapshot from an awesome meal at Caffe Nonna.
(If you ever visit Nashville, check yourself in with whatever location-based-app you’re using and enjoy excellent foods.)
